Pakistan-Japan Business Foru m was established on February 06, 2001 in the presence of dignitaries from Pakistan and Japan for the promotion of business between the two countries.
The Expectation
It is con ceived to be a milestone to help activate business and investment relations between the two countries. It will generate momentum that would further accelerate business activities, since its main objectives are encouragement, furtherance and promotion of business, mutual understanding, and pragmatic friendly relations between Pakistan and Japan.
It is intended to be a channel for seminars, discussions, and other related activities that would ensure into meaningful Japanese investment in Pakistan. This would be done through interaction with trade organizations in Japan, by exchange of delegations & visits, organizing, assisting, sponsoring exhibitions, and displaying showrooms in Pakistan.
It would also promote culture, traditional art & craft, and other such activities.
It is an organization that promises to be the harbinger of a new and beneficial period in the friendly relations of Pakistan and Japan
Pakistan-Japan Business Dialogue Karachi and Islamabad 3rd & 5th September
Pak-Japan Business Cooperation Committee was established in 1984 to promote business links between the two countries and amongst their private sectors. The last meeting of PJBCC was held in May 1997. All major corporations in Japan are members of this committee. A high power delegation under the leadership of Mr. Akira Watari, Chairman PJBCC visited Pakistan from 2nd to 6th September 2001. Senior Government official from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Trade are also accompanied the private sector delegation. Pak-Japan Business Forum, Embassy of Japan and Board of Investment jointly organized two business dialogues i). Private-Private Joint Business Dialogue ii). Government-Private Joint Business Dialogue in Karachi and Islamabad on 3rd and 5th September 2001 respectively. JETRO also hosted a Seminar on the sidelines of the Business Dialogue on 3rd September.
A joint press conference was held at the end of the Dialogue on 5th September Chairman, BOI, Mr. Watari, Mr. TASE, Mr. Aziz Memon and Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan addressed the press.
