The Board of Investment (BOI) was established with broad based responsibilities of promotion of investment in all sectors of economy; facilitation of local and foreign investors for speedy materialization of their projects and to enhance Pakistan's international competitiveness and contribute to economic and social development.

Pakistan a Strategic Location for Smart Investors

The World Bank recognized Pakistan, 107th rank in Ease of Doing Business, while the 98th rank in starting a business in the world, in its annual 'Doing Business' report. The Ease of Doing Business Index is an index created by the World Bank. Higher rankings indicate better, usually simpler, regulations for businesses and stronger protections of property rights.

Investment guide is a booklet prepared by BOI to provide information on a number of subjects relevant for investment planning or doing business in Pakistan. This booklet provides a summary of the rules, regulations and tax laws applicable in Pakistan. Although covering many relevant areas, it cannot be exhaustive, and it is not designed to provide the complex and detailed information required for decision- making in relation to investments.
